What
Is Science?
As
man discovers God’s laws in science, we fulfill God’s
command to have dominion over the earth. Science has shown to be
a very beneficial source of truth to that end. If we are to take
advantage of all that science has to offer without compromising
our convictions, we need to discern and then embrace good science
and reject false science. Although science tries to be philosophically impartial it crosses the line when it interprets evidence and speculates about ultimate causes and origins.
From where did we and all this surrounding complexity and majesty come? Every concept that touches that question has religious significance. Whether explained in sacred or science texts, these awesome works invite our adoration and even our worship. Whatever caused this majestic effect has the right to be called God. Here Science walks on holy ground. Without the Bible we would have no way of knowing that creation was supernatural. Natural evidence does not reveal supernatural methods. We must interpret physical evidence under Scriptural authority to learn how it all began. Our conclusions will shape our God concept, our life meaning and our worldview.
The Scientific Method
is a system of checks and balances intended to prevent bias and fraud in science. It requires repeatability and verification. After several proofs theories become principles. The best principles of science are called the Laws of Science.

Science is one method of seeking truth, appropriate when events are recurring.
It uses the law of Cause and Effect to find causes of observable effects.
- Science is recognition that physical reality follows physical laws.
- Science helps man exercise dominion over the earth as God required.
- Science gains integrity by using The Scientific Method.
- Man-Made Knowledge
- "Science" comes from Latin "scio" = I know
- Science is a man-made partition in man-made knowledge

- To Prevent Erroneous Speculation
- rebels who reject the divine guidance of Scripture can only speculate.
- Speculations and interpretations (of evidence or Scripture) are not truth.
- Elaborate displays, artist conceptions, and slick television are not guidance.
- We can never draw sense out of nonsense or find truth amidst untruth.
- Strange evidence from Supernatural Creation
God created everything instantly in its mature form. He created trees bearing fruit, herbs with seed, birds that could already fly, animals that could multiply and He created Adam and Eve as adults, not babies. Imagine for a moment that you and I could be there to observe on the seventh day. Adam's physique, the size of the trees, the fruit with seeds and the mature creatures would suggest that everything was much more than seven days old, although the true age would be less than a week. Our powers of observation would not be interpreting supernatural results correctly.
In the special case of supernatural creation, honest observations of evidence by humans may not reveal the truth. More accurately, our interpretations of supernatural evidence would be incorrect. The evidence is not deceitful; our observations were just too superficial. If we studied the evidence more closely, we may find clues of a recent creation. Perhaps trees would have had no annual rings. Perhaps Adam and Eve did not have navels. Only two procreating people inhabiting the earth would be a clue.
- NATURAL Means:
- Creationists see everything good as works of God
- Natural means the repeating, predictable, dependable processes
- They become scientific principles as we discover them.
- The laws of Science are really laws of God conserving his creation
- SUPERNATURAL Means:
- Supernatural means single events not repeated - miracles.
- Miracles demonstrate God's power to overrule natural laws.
- We are careless with the word miracle eg the "miracle of life."
- God, Jesus, Apostles, OT prophets did miracles, but not us.
- SUPERNATURAL VS NATURAL CREATION
- did God use the processes we see operating now or did He use miracles?
- Creationists say He used Miracles. Clearly the message of Scripture.
- Theistic Evolution, Gap-Theory, Progressive Creation etc. want both.
More is at Stake than the mere Integrity of Science
Whenever
experts in science try to explain origins, whether they
realize it or not, they enter the debate of worldviews
and the meaning of life. These are religious
topics that are beyond their expertise.
Science tries to be religiously impartial and amoral but:
