"Survival of the fittest" does remove the weak. Natural selection actually conserves the species as they are. Variations from the Creator's perfect efficient design of fixed species are always weaker and will be eliminated. But natural selection does not improve the fittest. Selective breeding, (e.g. race horses) cross-pollination and laboratories can manipulate genes. But genetic mutations have never crossed a species barrier. Environmental, genetic and adaptive changes work to preserve the species. There is no evidence for intra-species adaptation in fossils or life. It is speculation. is mathematical abstraction not some yet-to-be-discovered force causing good. and other change processes are at work everywhere, but there is no natural upward tendency in any of them. Species are disappearing today —no one debates that. Are new species taking their place as evolution predicts? No one claims that either. Charles Libby won the Nobel prize for developing radiocarbon dating and explained that his dates were reliable only if no catastrophe in the past had changed radiation reaching the earth. The Biblical flood catastrophe, a few 1000 years ago, collapsed our greenhouse, intensifying the radiation, and dramatically shifted the radiometric clock —just as Libby said it would. Described in Scripture, dinosaurs were created on the sixth day and probably became "extinct" shortly after the flood. Their voracious vegetation appetite, met by huge plants that grew under the per-flood greenhouse, could not be met after the water canopy collapsed. Fossils must be buried suddenly aided by water to be preserved. The fossils shout of a worldwide catastrophic flood and argue against slow burial over millions of years with local floods. |
While we believe that change processes operate today, we reject the shear speculation that these small changes are all upward, cumulative, cross generations to cause new species. Millions of molecular re-combinations occur every second (generally toward disorder). Occasionally one can be good. These short-lived, scarce events cannot account for evolutionary advance—only for decay. Good only comes when a deliberate good force, capable of good designs, achieves good. Despite the prediction that: "Given enough time, things improve," no being has within itself any power to advance the species. We bring nothing into the world and take nothing out. The law of cause and effect rules all science and predicts that nothing created can be as great as its creating force. Natural processes have power only to conserve, not to create. Those who only understand the physical dimension believe that DNA is life. But DNA is not Life!. Every casket is full of DNA with no life. Life only came from Life. In man, life is primarily a spiritual dimension of his being. Evolution says death is just the end of life. It began as soon as life began. The Bible emphasizes that God gave his new friend man, everlasting life. Through death and resurrection we can return. Death is but temporary sleep; life is eternal. Death came when man sinned. Adam's death sentence passed to all men. The fossils shout of sudden death & burial and assisted by water. This, "best evidence for evolution" is better evidence for a worldwide flood. Awesome evidence says marvelous forces are working on our behalf. They evoke a response of wonder, admiration, even worship. "Isn't nature wonderful!" The Creator is conserving His creation by "natural" processes. The Bible warns of danger —the evidence itself can draw our worship. Darwin, Gould and others teaches. |
